About the Artist
Julie Webb has been painting since 1999. Previously an Accountant Julie decided she wanted to make painting her career. She had always wanted to paint but a lack of drawing skills held her back until she discovered Decorative Art. The techniques and brushstrokes that she learnt meant that she didn’t need to draw. Having discovered this addictive form of painting Julie was passionate about sharing her new found skills with others. In 2003 she moved to Freshwater on the Isle of Wight to make painting and teaching her full time occupation.
Since moving to the Island Julie is pleased to include Warner’s Hotels, Isle of Wight Council, Needles Pleasure Park and The Enchanted Manor as her corporate customers and has worked with many of the W.I.s , other Ladies groups and Art Societies on the Island also the Forest Art Centre in New Milton. Her reputation for painting on virtually any surface including wedding dresses is making her more widely known. She has many personal testaments from students who have enjoyed the welcoming and friendly workshops she runs. Her wish is to get as many people painting as possible regardless of their age.
